Global surgery · Humanitarian hernia missions

Hernia care,
beyond borders.

I have been privileged to take part in humanitarian hernia missions across the world, working alongside local colleagues and international volunteers. As a director and trustee of Operation Hernia, I value the work not only for the surgery provided, but for the shared learning, local partnerships and practical training that can strengthen surgical care over time.

Partnership & sustainable skills

Care that goes beyond the operating table.

Humanitarian surgical missions work best as a partnership. Alongside treating patients, there is value in exchanging experience, teaching practical techniques and supporting local teams who continue this work long after a visiting group has left.

I am proud to support Operation Hernia as a director and trustee, and to contribute to the wider effort to improve access to safe hernia care.
